Ariel's Dirty Thirty

You are NEVER too old to celebrate a birthday BIG! And I stand by that. Ariel reached out wanting to do a fun shoot for her 30th birthday. It was a perfect excuse to actually c e l e b r a t e the new decade! 30 always seems to be a big birthday milestone for folks but my mom has said that her thirties was one of the best decades. Why? Because she said that she finally felt like she had come finally come into herself. And if that’s not enough to celebrate, I always liked the reminder not to complain about growing older from good ol’ Mark Twain, because he said “age is a privilege denied to many”. And let’s be honest, with age usually comes wisdom and that’s not half bad either, right? So when Ariel reached out about her session, I was thrilled it was a birthday she wanted to remember and honor.

Whatever age or decade comes next for you, I truly hope you celebrate it and you feel lucky to have another year to do life. If you decide to treat yourself on your birthday, maybe think about some updated portraits. Because it’s not the little ones that deserve to have some birthday photos, you do too. 💖
