Wade + Julia's Engagement

It feels like it’s been an eternity since we first booked their wedding date this last Winter! But we officially start the countdown to their wedding in August 2022! We had planned a September sunrise session in River Falls, WI since this was the town where it all started! Not only did they meet in River Falls, but they recently just purchased their first home there too! Raising their new little puppy Penny during the pandemic and renovating their new home annnnd planning their 2022 wedding? Their hands are full of all sorts of good stuff. And of course, Penny (and the best MOH + dog handleer 😉) came along for the session, too!

Both Wade and Julia had their first date at a coffee shop on main street in River Falls, WI. We planned to split their engagement shoot between DeSanctis Park in their neighborhood (to get some nice organic shots outside) and end our session where it all started! No two sessions are the same — I really always hope to find a fun way to personalize your session, especially when we can make your engagement shoot feel more like a date than a photo session.

Funny enough, however, some things don’t always go as planned! When we parked out front, we realized that the coffee shop was closed ALL DAY (on a Sunday even, who does that!!!). Even though we all had checked the hours online… we had to come up with a backup plan. We still got our coffee (from Caribou, located in the front of the grocery store, albeit not as cute it did the job), and took some photos in front of their coffee shop regardless.

Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and I’m so thankful that Julia and Wade were able to find the humor in it! I am so excited for their wedding next year! Also, River Falls, a college town at that, needs more coffee shop options, if any aspiring coffee shop owners are listening 😉
