Summer in October
We had some wonderfully un-seasonal weather this past weekend in Minnesota and this little family lucked out! Meet Summer (and her mom, Linsie, and dad, Brennan, too, of course). Linsie and Brennan are co-parenting the HECK out of little Summer and I just want to give major credit where credit is due. It’s a wildly beautiful thing when two parents, despite not being “together”, can still come together for their kid(s) for the big stuff and the little stuff and still be a true team. I am so happy to have been a part of capturing such love in a family.
It was a beautifully sunny and warm Sunday and I was just giddy all day looking forward to shooting. Of course, as late afternoon rolled in… so did the clouds. It was unusually dark around 5pm, especially when we still had about an hour before sunset. Shooting outside means you’re always on your toes and it means every session there’s probably at least one thing that doesn’t go quite as planned. The beauty of it is, you do the best with what you got, and you’re usually pleasantly surprised. And honestly, thank goodness for little Summer because she was all in with all my ideas and she even had a few of her own. And bonus (for all of us), I think she had a good time too. * soft smiles *
